General Info

The 'SaxonRose & Shield' VEX Tournament is hosted by South Salem Robotics club and it is an Oregon Region only event. The event is being held in the commons and cafeteria areas of South Salem High School. Park in the parking lot on Rural Street and walk behind the gym to the commons. Map details can be viewed in the Documents section of this event.

After passing inspection teams will participate in Qualifying Rounds, Alliance Selection and Elimination Rounds. There will also be a field open for Skills Challenge runs. Teams will be limited to three Driving and three Programming Skills Challenge runs. All fields will be "portable fields".

All times after the Inspections are rough estimates. If we can start the the opening ceremony, qualifying matches, alliance selection, elimination rounds, or award ceremony earlier, we will do so in order to help move the event along and help teams get on the road and home sooner.

Judging Format

Judging Format Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. Notebook links must be uploaded no later than 10 days before the event to ensure judges have sufficient time to look over the notebooks (Judges often do an initial notebook inspection the weekend before a tournament). Volunteer

Volunteer Contact Judson Birkel (birkel_judson@salkeiz.k12.or.us) if you interested in helping volunteer. We always need referees and judges. If you are interested in refereeing please complete the VEX Referee Certification. VEX U teams are welcome to complete VURC skills runs if they are volunteering!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy If bad weather is to occur, use your own discretion on attending the event. If the event is cancelled and we are not able to reschedule the event we will refund your tournament fee.
