General Info

General Info

Bunka Gakuen University Suginami Junior & Senior High School is pleased to host the VEX V5 Robotics Competition Scrimmage.

This Invitational Event is designed to provide participating teams with an opportunity to gain valuable match experience in a competition environment. Rather than operating as a full tournament, the event will focus specifically on match play, giving teams as many opportunities as possible to compete, test strategies, work with different alliance partners, and identify areas for improvement.

Teams will compete in the 2026–2027 VEX V5 Robotics Competition™ game, Override™. All matches will be conducted according to the current official Game Manual and official Q&A, providing teams with an environment that closely reflects an official competition.

This event is intended as a practice opportunity. The Robot Skills Challenge and judging will not be conducted, and no Judged Awards or Qualification Spots for the Japan National Championship will be awarded.

This is an Invitational Event and registration is limited to invited teams.

Event Type: Invitational Scrimmage

Robot Skills Challenge: Not Offered

Judging: Not Offered

Qualification Spots: None

Official Game Rules: Applied

Student-Centered Policy

The VEX V5 Robotics Competition is conducted in accordance with the Global Robotics and Science Foundation's Student-Centered Policy.

Students are expected to take primary responsibility for designing, building, programming, and operating their robots. Although this event is a Scrimmage, the same Student-Centered Policy that applies at official VEX V5 Robotics Competition events will apply throughout this event.

Coaches, mentors, parents, and supporters play an important role by encouraging learning, asking questions, and providing guidance without directing or completing the work for students.

All participating teams are expected to comply with the Global Robotics and Science Foundation's Student-Centered Policy.

Consent Forms

All participants—including students, coaches, mentors, parents, volunteers, and guests who require one—must complete the required Global Robotics and Science Foundation's Consent Form before participating in the event.

Participants under 18 years of age must have consent provided by a parent or legal guardian.

Official Competition Rules

All teams are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the current VEX V5 Robotics Competition Game Manual, including all official updates and Q&A rulings published by GRSF.

Although this is a Scrimmage, all matches will be conducted according to the official VEX V5 Robotics Competition game rules.

The purpose of this event is not to simplify the competition rules, but to provide teams with more opportunities to experience actual match play under official competition conditions.

We encourage teams to use this opportunity to test their robots and strategies, gain experience working with alliance partners, identify areas for improvement, and prepare for future competitions.

We look forward to welcoming all participating teams to Bunka Suginami.
